The House

The story of the Rogers-Blake-Harrison House is rich with history and resilience. Originally constructed in 1792 by John and Mary Rogers, the charming residence suffered a devastating fire during the War of 1812, as American forces retreated in December 1813. Remarkably, Mary saved one of the home's exquisite fireplaces, a stunning symbol of the home's enduring spirit. In 1817, their son James rebuilt the house on its original foundation, which later became the beloved  Anchor and the Crown Inn and the Niagara Coffee House.


Historic records at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum recently revealed that the first Robert Burns Supper in Canada was hosted at this inn in honour of the Scots National Poet by Mrs. Rogers 200 years ago, on January 25th, 1826.


Today, Hattan House welcomes guests to enjoy a distinctive boutique B&B offering exceptional comfort, thoughtful touches, and excellent service, turning a simple stay into a memorable experience.

What's in a Name?

Hattan House pays tribute to the charm and character of New York City boutique hotels, featuring a unique aesthetic, stylish amenities and individualized service. We are dedicated to providing an authentic and personal experience for our guests.

A minimum stay of two or more nights is required on Fridays and Saturdays from May through October.

We occasionally make exceptions based on availability. Please contact us to inquire.
